The buzz around the hair quality of the new Diana amiibo from Pragmata instantly brings back memories of 2014’s infamous “Merth.”
Back then, the shock came when Marth hit shelves, revealing a massive discrepancy between the final product and Nintendo’s original promo design. With Diana, doubts were already brewing when Capcom released the first promotional shots.

Now that Diana has landed in stores, social media is ablaze with comparisons—her hair is being likened to spaghetti or ramen. Some fans even argue the figure feels like a knock-off, echoing the same frustration Marth sparked years ago.

What makes this even more surprising is the contrast with Capcom’s other lines. While the Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection figures are praised for their detail, collectors can’t wrap their heads around why Diana didn’t receive the same treatment.

This leaves fans in a familiar paradox: a figure criticized for “low” quality yet chased by everyone. The demand is undeniable, even if the design leaves many unconvinced. To complicate matters, Capcom delayed the international release until June, creating scarcity that has already tripled Diana’s resale value.
From my perspective, a new mold seems unlikely. Capcom’s limited production runs are notorious, and this could be the perfect storm for Diana to become a must-have amiibo—regardless of design flaws.
So here we are again, debating quality versus demand. What’s your take on the Diana amiibo? Share your thoughts in the comments!
