Super Smash Bros. (1999) Sold For US$21K

Earlier today, the classic and original Super Smash Bros. for N64 reached the significant figure of US$21,964 in the secondary collectors’ market.

And the timing has been perfectly synchronized, because we recently celebrated the 26th anniversary of its release in the United States.

This iconic edition from 1999 laid the foundation for the popular crossover fighting video game series we know today.

The saga created by Masahiro Sakurai has been a staple for several generations and has generated the perfect symbiosis with amiibo.

As we expected, the new Nintendo Switch 2 era should bring us a new Super Smash Bros. title, including new playable characters, which should mean a new wave of our beloved toys-to-life figures.

Of course, we could speculate about a long list of new characters, but only time will tell us the answers to those thoughts.

Whatever happens, I am quite sure we will enjoy a refreshing Super Smash Bros. version for Nintendo Switch 2, and I look forward to hearing some breaking news about it in the short term.

Finally, this auction shows us again the passion for this timeless franchise and reminds us that the collector market is always offering treasure troves.
