Capcom’s highly anticipated 2027 release, Resident Evil: Veronica, seems poised to include amiibo support.
On Nintendo’s Japanese eShop, the game’s listing displays the following text exactly as written: “This software supports the following features: – NFC (Near Field Communication) – Surround sound (Linear PCM). If you have a compatible TV, the following feature is available: – HDR output.”

In the context of the Nintendo eShop, when a listing explicitly mentions Near Field Communication (NFC), it almost always refers to reading and writing amiibo figures and cards, as that is the console’s only standardized use for the chip.
With this in mind, it’s highly likely that the much-anticipated Leon and Grace figures will be compatible with Resident Evil: Veronica. The bigger question is whether Capcom will introduce brand-new amiibo specifically for this title. Looking at the precedent set by Monster Hunter, we could be witnessing the start of a new Resident Evil saga where amiibo become a staple with each release.

Capcom’s official site has yet to provide further details, so patience is required. Still, all signs suggest we may soon see fresh amiibo tied to this iconic franchise.
