Nintendo Direct Reveals an Avalanche of Amiibo

The pre-celebrations for the 40th anniversary of Mario Bros. brought an avalanche of amiibo during today’s Nintendo Direct.

We saw Mario & Luma and Rosalina & Lumas for Super Mario Galaxy first, followed by Kirby & Warp Star and Bandana Waddle Dee & Winged Star for Kirby Air Riders.

And if that wasn’t enough, Metroid Prime Beyond, one of the most anticipated games of the year, is bringing us three magnificent amiibo: Samus & Vi-O-La, Samus, and Sylux.

The Mario and Rosalina figures will become available next year, specifically on April 2, while the Kirby Air Riders figures will hit the market on November 20.

Meanwhile, the new Samus Aran figures will launch on November 6, and Sylux on December 4.

The design of the Super Mario Galaxy figures is simply stunning, highlighting not only the characters of Mario and Rosalina but also featuring a much more detailed design than standard amiibo figures.

On the other hand, the new Kirby and Waddle Dee figures allow you to swap characters between vehicles, which is impressive.

Likewise, today’s Direct hinted that more characters will join the Kirby Air Riders universe as amiibo soon.

Finally, regarding the Metroid Prime figures, the design of Samus & Vi-O-La stands out, making it clear that Nintendo is going all out when it comes to striking designs for the amiibo line.

We’re overwhelmed with joy by this avalanche of amiibo, especially because it confirms that Nintendo’s toys-to-life are here to stay for a good while.
