If I could choose any character to be immortalized as an amiibo, my pick would be Sir Arthur from Ghosts ‘n Goblins.
There’s something timeless about this brave knight in shining armor (or, let’s be honest, sometimes just his underwear) that makes him perfect for the toys-to-life format.
Capcom has shown growing interest in amiibo recently, especially with the upcoming Switch 2. We’ve already seen figures tied to Street Fighter 6, Pragmata, and Resident Evil Requiem, while franchises like Monster Hunter and the legendary Mega Man have been staples in the lineup for years.
With a new Super Smash Bros. installment almost guaranteed for the Switch 2—complete with fresh fighters and amiibo releases—I couldn’t help but imagine Sir Arthur joining the roster.
After all, he already appeared as a Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If characters like Little Mac, PAC-MAN, and Duck Hunt, among other classics, could make the leap to playable fighters, why not Arthur?
Fueled by this idea, I decided to bring my vision to life. Using AI, I created a custom amiibo concept for Sir Arthur in the Smash Bros. series.
The result was surprisingly convincing—so much so that it looked like an official release.
I even designed a retro 8-bit version as a tribute to the countless hours I spent at my local arcade trying to rescue Princess Prin-Prin.
Of course, these designs are purely fan-made. They aren’t leaks, nor do they hint at future Capcom or Nintendo releases. But if fate ever blessed us with an official Sir Arthur amiibo, it would be a dream come true.
What’s clear is that AI now allows us to materialize the custom collectibles we’ve only ever imagined, producing visuals so realistic they could pass for the latest product from a major brand.
