Mega Man & Proto Man Amiibo Headline Capcom’s 40th Anniversary

Capcom has surprised fans with the announcement of the Mega Man and Proto Man amiibo, set to accompany what promises to be one of its flagship titles in 2027: Mega Man: Dual Override.

Celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the iconic character created by Akira Kitamura are officially underway, and these new amiibo are already sparking excitement.

When it comes to design, the figures stay true to the classic look, perfectly reflecting the essence of Mega Man: Dual Override. Moreover, they’re essential additions for collectors aiming to complete the line alongside the Super Smash Bros. version, Mega Man 11, and the Mega Man Gold 30th Anniversary Edition.

The big question remains: will Capcom surprise us with characters like Dr. Wily or Twisted Girl? After all, seeing them in amiibo form would be a dream scenario—and an incredible bonus for fans of the saga.

As for packaging and precise release dates, no details have been revealed yet. However, if Capcom follows its usual rollout, those details will surface closer to launch. For now, the only confirmed window is spring 2027.

Meanwhile, we’re sharing the trailer included in today’s showcase to whet your appetite, and there’s a chance fresh news will drop next week during the upcoming Capcom Spotlight.

In the meantime, you can already add the Mega Man and Proto Man amiibo to your wishlist, and we’ll update the database with more details as soon as they’re available.
