We are very happy to announce that our team is working on a new challenge. We are adding the Amiibo Taiwanese Packaging Variants in our database.
Following the steps of our partnered website hobbyDB, which has the goal to document every collectible ever made, we also have the mission to catalog every single item related to amiibo in APG.
At this moment, we have documented the US, International, Japanese, Korean and Chinese ((Tencent) packaging variants of our beloved NFC figures, but we are still working to offer the best and most accurate amiibo collecting experience.
For those who are not familiar with the Taiwanese packaging version, we give you some tips to identify the main differences.
Originally, Nintendo distributed in Taiwan and Hong Kong the amiibo Japanese packaging version, however and coinciding with the release of the Nintendo Switch, the Big N introduced small changes in the packaging for those regions.
The difference is a sticker that covered the entire back of the cardboard, except for the bar code area, having more amazing and must-have packaging versions to add to our collections.
We can find that sticker in some Japanese versions, such as The Legend of Zelda or Super Mario series, and in the English – Japanese packaging version for Super Smash Bros. and Kirby series.
We started this task a few days ago, so we are working so hard to update the database as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can check out some of the new adds here.
